A History of Investing in the Church

For 85 years, Texas Methodist Foundation has supported churches and ministries across Texas and New Mexico in achieving their God-inspired potential by providing financial and learning and innovation services that build cultures of purpose, generosity, and courage.

We offer expert financial counsel on church financing and growing new ministries. We are honored to serve as a trusted partner for investing church assets and endowments.

Our philanthropy team works with clergy and lay leaders in creating Donor-Advised Funds, endowments, and other charitable services agreements that create giving legacies and fund grants that empower local churches, ministries, and nonprofits long into the future.

Our congregational engagement team walks alongside clergy and lay leaders in discerning purpose and providing encouragement to build growing congregations.

Learning and Innovation, begun in 2002, ignites the imagination of church leaders, emboldening them to ask new questions and seek new ways to strengthen the church's vital role in the world.

IMPACT STORY

Continuing the Cycle of Generosity Through Impact Investing

Immigrating from Cuba with the dream of building a prosperous life in the United States is Ruben and Alina Esquivel’s journey of being blessed by the generosity of others in a time of need.

Today, they are investing in the journeys of others by improving communities through investing in TMF Impact Certificates that fund loans to churches and nonprofits.

The Esquivel’s investments have provided critically needed health care to uninsured and underinsured persons in its community through Open Arms Health Clinic in Arlington, Texas. Their investments also helped make the Mansfield Mission Center’s thrift store possible, providing much-needed clothing and home furnishings for the local community.

These stories are just a few among countless others demonstrating the potential of impact investing to change organizations and transform communities.
