Competitive Grant Cycle

Register for the Application Information Session.

TMF Grants Ministry supports churches and other nonprofits whose work contributes to the world that God imagines. We believe in the abundance of God’s gifts and graces and take an asset-based approach to ministry.

Grant Focus Areas

TMF offers one competitive cycle per year that supports 2 core areas of focus:

  • Evangelism / Faith-Based Social Impact
  • Community programs and services that improve the condition of those living in poverty

TMF grants ministry funds support other focus areas through Invitation-Only cycles throughout the year. Invitation-Only cycle themes vary, including scholarships, innovative initiatives, social capital, and more.

To learn more about how to support the entire TMF Grants Ministry, contact Wendy Abel.

Important Dates

TMF offers one Competitive cycle per year and welcomes anyone interested to apply.

In this cycle, we look for proposals that offer creative, sustainable solutions that celebrate the abundance of gifts within and among a community. We ask for SMART goals with measurable outcomes and plan to partner with you long-term.

Methodist churches and causes may receive priority consideration. However, any church or charitable organization that shares TMF’s vision and purpose may apply for a grant.

If you don’t receive an automated response, please contact Sarah Rich. You will be notified whether your LOI was accepted or rejected by email. If your LOI is approved for the next step in our grants process, you will receive a link to our grant application in the approval email. The grant application is due no later than January 31, 2023.

Step 1: Read TMF's grant ministry's FAQs.

Step 2: Grant applications must be received on or before the designated deadline in order to be considered at the next grant committee meeting. Please note that the online process involves two steps: submitting a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) to be approved by TMF, then submitting the grant application.

Competitive Cycle LOI submission begins November 1, 2022. The deadline for submitting an LOI is:

  • Competitive Cycle - November 30, 2022

After an LOI has been submitted, an automated email will be sent to you acknowledging receipt. The LOI is reviewed and within three weeks you will receive an email inviting or denying your request to submit a grant application. If the LOI is approved, the email will provide a link to the TMF grant application.

The deadline for submitting a grant application:

  • Competitive Cycle – January 31, 2022
