Janet has served TMF for five years as the administrative assistant to Rev. Lisa Greenwood and the Leadership Ministry team. She lightheartedly refers to herself as a “seminary dropout” and has leveraged her personal experience to tailor a career assisting church leaders, because she knows how challenging ministry can be.
With the Leadership Ministry team, she has the opportunity to bring church leaders together for meaningful conversations that lead to change. Prior to coming to TMF, she held a variety of positions including as a math teacher and as an Assistant Operations Manager at Teco-Westinghouse in Round Rock, TX.
Bishop Janice Riggle Huie
Bishop Huie retired in 2016, following twenty years of service as a bishop to two annual conferences and as a former president of the Council of Bishops. During her tenure in the Texas Annual Conference (2004-2016), she adopted a bold new missional strategy focused on Congregational Excellence, Clergy Excellence, and a Re-aligned Missional Structure. As bishop of the Arkansas Annual Conference (1996-2004), she guided the former Little Rock Conference and North Arkansas Conference in their successful merger.
For the last four years, Bishop Huie has brought her wealth of leadership development expertise and courageous innovation to TMF's Leadership Ministry.
Maggie has served TMF for two years as the administrative assistant to Bishop Janice Riggle Huie and the Leadership Ministry team. She extends the radical hospitality for which TMF is known to all Leadership Ministry group participants through event management and technical support.
Maggie is a life-long Methodist. Before coming to TMF, she served as stage manager for the New Mexico Annual Conference and communications director for Trinity-First UMC in El Paso, TX; additionally, she lent her creative talents to assist community leaders in El Paso with the creation of the children’s book Go Sí El Paso!

Preceding her joining TMF, Kyrah held a variety of positions, including as a ministry assistant, project coordinator, and marketing assistant. She has also traveled to various parts of the world on assorted mission trips hoping to show God’s love to others and putting God's work into action.
Rev. John Thornburg
Leadership Ministry Facilitator
John brings 38 years of ministry experience in the diverse settings of the United States and in West Africa. He calls himself a ‘professional encourager’, and greatly enjoys working with congregations and church leaders.
Before coming to TMF, his work in the nationally renowned East Dallas Cooperative Parish brought growth, vitality, and missional focus to a church that had been in decline for years. He founded a unique extensional ministry to strengthen congregational singing and traveled to hundreds of churches for twelve years before coming to TMF. John became TMF's Senior Area Representative for the North Texas Conference in 2013, then he became Vice President of Area Staff, and now he is thrilled to join the Leadership Ministry team.
