Courageous Congregations Collaborative (C3)
In Spring 2021, TMF’s Leadership Ministry is launching C3 Cohorts. In part, these cohorts are a response to the conversations we hosted via Zoom with clergy leading in diverse settings over the course of the first month of the COVID-19 outbreak in the United States. We listened to clergy describe their current experiences, anticipated challenges, and future hopes.
Despite the diversity of those in these focus groups, we could easily identify five adaptive muscles that many churches will need to strengthen in order to thrive in the post-pandemic church.
Developing these muscles leads to sustained thriving.
A thriving congregation is filled with people who are devoted disciples of Jesus Christ, passionate about working together to fulfill God’s appointed mission, and willing to go where the Spirit is leading. Congregations who go with the Spirit and stretch these muscles will truly become the body of Christ in the world.

C3 Cohorts will be a six-month intensive cohort experience that brings congregations together to develop these muscles needed in order to thrive now and in the future. In addition to group gatherings, peer learning, pilgrimage experiences and context exploration, each team will have a coach who will walk with them as they flex their muscles in their own communities.
